Factory resetting a device (StrideLinx router) will return all settings on the device to their factory default value. You cannot undo a factory reset! After doing a factory reset you'll have to register the device again. If the device is still listed in the StrideLinx Cloud and you want to re-use those settings, make sure to turn on "Recover upon next registration" before registering again. If you want to start from scratch, make sure to remove the device from the StrideLinx Cloud before registering again.

If the StrideLinx router is registered in a different company after the factory reset, as an anti-theft measure, users in the original company with the following roles will be notified:

• Platform administrator
• Company-wide > Manage devices
• Group/Device-specific > Configure devices

The message will contain:

  The device with the name <device name> has been registered in another company
  and is not accessible anymore from your company.

The message will not be sent if the StrideLinx router registration is effectively removed from the original company.

Factory reset a device

Carefully follow the steps below to factory reset your device.

• On top of the device, near the back, you'll see a small round opening. Grab a pencil or other pointy object and gently press and hold the factory reset button inside the opening.

After a few seconds, the LEDs on the device should start flashing, indicating that it is busy performing the factory reset.

• Keep holding the button until the LEDs stop flashing and then let go.

The ACT LED should now be constant red.

• Wait 2 minutes.

The device will now boot up. If after 2 minutes the ACT LED is still constant red, that means the factory reset was executed correctly. If it is not constant red, that means you likely let go of the factory reset button too early and you'll need to repeat the steps above.
