Connect to your Allen-Bradley PLC

Once you've registered your StrideLinx router to the StrideLinx Cloud and connected your Allen-Bradley to one of the LAN ports, you're ready to remotely access it.

• UDP broadcast traffic needs to be allowed. It's disallowed by default, but needs to be allowed for you to browse for your Allen-Bradley.
  • Add 44818 as UDP broadcast port to your StrideLinx router settings at Fleet Manager > Devices > Your device > Network > LAN.
• Make sure the subnet mask in your LAN settings match the Network mask used in RSLinx or FactoryTalk Linx so the broadcast response will work correctly.
• Set up a VPN connection to your StrideLinx router.

You can now use either RSLinx Classic or FactoryTalk Linx to browse for your Allen-Bradley.

• Add an EtherNet/IP driver and select the "remote"-option.
• Enter StrideLinx's VPN range:
  • IP address: 10.187.0.0
  • Subnet: 255.255.0.0

• Browse for and connect to your Allen-Bradley as you normally do.
  • Make sure that firewall software on your computer, like Windows Firewall, is not blocking the PLC's reply from getting back to RSLinx Classic or FactoryTalk Linx.
